I love naptime.
It is never long enough. But for those couple blessed hours when my daughter (hopefully) sleeps, I love to read books – any books, all books – some of my favorite genres include chick lit, YA dystopian, historical fiction and celebrity memoirs. I love to watch those silly television shows that my husband rolls his eyes at – American Idol, Top Model, Project Runway, Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Cupcake Wars, even Good Luck Charlie. Basically my television preferences haven’t changed much since high school and likely never will.
I love to listen to music by artists like Adele, John Mayer, The Black Eyed Peas, Jack Johnson, Bruno Mars or Taylor Swift. I love to dabble in crafts like beading and and making photo books and calendars online (that’s a craft, right?). I love to bake delicious desserts and I like to eat too many of them, much to the dismay of my hips. I love to find my new favorite workout but I’m fickle with my exercise so that changes a lot and sometimes includes nothing.
I love to play facebook games like Words With Friends and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire ; or waste time with smartphone apps (I’m an Android kinda girl, how about you?) like Draw Something and Instagram. I love to take pictures with my Nikon D40 or my smartphone. Those pictures are often of my children, but not always (and not usually when they are napping, though it’s happened a few times). I love to go on dates with my husband to fancy restaurants (Olive Garden is fancy right?) and see movies together at my favorite theater, Sundance, where you can drink beer while you watch the movie and there are never teenagers there (although I don’t drink beer and my movie tastes are sometimes just as prepubescent as my taste in tv and books).
In short, I guess you could say I love stories. I love the world of entertainment in all it’s forms – and I love to write about all that stuff and more – here. You can see more of my musings on life as a mother of a precocious four year old girl and a terrifically clever seven year old boy, married to the love of my life and living the dream in the midwest at my personal blog, mommablogsalot.com (you may notice some duplicate posts between the two blogs – momma loves to copy herself, too, apparently).
